Being offered for sale is the vintage UNMARKED/UNBRANDED MITRE CUTTER (lever action lowers two knives/blades (3/4" thickness capacity), japanned cast iron w/ solid wood base (2-3/8" width capacity), accurately cuts moldings at 45 degree angle) possibly by STANLEY (no visible maker's mark(s) but is virtually the same exact design as the Stanley No. 210, which John Walter's 1996 edition of Antique & Collectible Stanley Tools states that the No. 210 was "manufactured by Marsh Tool Company prior to Stanley's acquisition of that company in 1926. Early models of the No. 210 are not marked Stanley), from 1926-1941 (best guess based on the assumption that it is indeed an early No. 210), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. Good/VG vintage condition with moderate -to- severe overall wear from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Fully functional tool. All iron & steel blades have light rust. The vast majority of the original black japanning remains. Blade are dull and would certainly need a fresh sharpening prior to any practical use. Outstanding patina to all materials throughout. All-in-all a great example of a possibly rare early or pre-Stanley mitre tool! See pics.
