Battaglio Barbaresco "Serragrilli" Riserva single vineyard cru. Gianluca Battaglio is the owner and winemaker of his family's estate in the Langhe. The Battaglio Family owns a small parcel on top of the Serragrill hill, considered one of the most important cru in Neive of Barbaresco. From that little parcel, which enjoys maximum sun exposure for the ripening of Nebbiolo, he handpicks only the finest grapes. The wine is aged in Slovenian and French oak barrels for 3 years followed by 1 year of rest in the bottle. This technique produces a limited 300 bottles per annum depending on the vintage. The 2017 only produced 260 bottles. Full-bodied with fresh fragrances and flavors reminiscent of cherry, roses, nutmeg, tobacco, and sandalwood. Decant for 3 hours before serving. We have just a few bottles remaining. Aging potential: 25 years.
